Job Description

Job Title: Special Staff Officers (SSOs)

Location: DC Metro Area

This is an Onsite Position:

Opportunity Overview: CORTEK seeks experienced Special Staff Officers (SSOs) to support Army tactical formations and programs across multiple domains: Transportation Munitions Sustainment and Medical. These roles require foundational operational experience in Army units and familiarity with relevant systems and equipment. SSOs will contribute to capability development modernization planning and program integration.

Responsibilities by Role

  • Transportation SSO:
  • Support programs such as the Palletized Load System (PLS) and Heavy Trailers
  • Must be familiar with tactical wheeled vehicles trailers and MRAPs
  • Munitions SSO:
  • Support Close Combat Systems and other munitions programs
  • Must understand direct/indirect fire munitions missiles pyrotechnics and explosives
  • Sustainment SSO:
  • Support Mobile Maintenance Systems and logistics modernization
  • Must be familiar with Ordnance and Quartermaster systems
  • Medical SSO:
  • Support garrison and field hospital systems
  • Must understand medical evacuation doctrine and levels of patient care

Required Qualifications:

  • Foundational operational experience in Army tactical formations
  • Familiarity with equipment and systems relevant to assigned domain
  • Ability to support Army Acquisition Category (ACAT) II and III programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint)

Highly Preferred Qualifications Certifications and Training:

  • How the Army Runs (HTAR) Course
  • RQM 1010 / CLR 101: Introduction to JCIDS
  • RQM 1100 / RQM 110: Core Concepts for Requirements Management / CDC
  • RQM 3100 / RQM 310: Advanced Concepts and Skills
  • CLR 151: Analysis of Alternatives
  • RQM 2500 / CLR 250: Capabilities-Based Assessments
  • RQM 2520 / CLR 252: Developing Performance Attributes
