The Department of Economic Security Office of the Director (OOD) seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Management Analyst 4 (Privacy Analyst). The Privacy Analyst performs daily activities and longer-term projects of significant difficulty and complexity involving compliance with Federal and State privacy laws. This position provides technical assistance concerning agency privacy compliance activities and aids in investigation mitigation and notification activities in the event of a privacy incident or breach. The Privacy Analyst performs extensive research and writes comprehensive analyses concerning privacy laws and regulations.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Across our many agencies boards commissions many State employees participate in the States Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes in offices and in hoteling spaces. All work including remote work should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage the investigation documentation mitigation and notification activities for potential privacy incidents or breaches in compliance with Federal and State privacy laws and DES policies and procedures.
Perform extensive and comprehensive research and analysis concerning privacy laws and regulations including HIPAA FERPA NIST CMS IRS SSA Title IV-D CJIS and Arizona statutes.
Complete comprehensive privacy reviews of information technology project documentation Data Sharing Agreements Business Associate Agreements and any other assigned materials to identify areas of concern and provide recommendations for privacy compliance.
Manage the dedicated DES privacy mailbox providing timely and accurate guidance to internal and external partners interacting with the general public and coordinating the investigation mitigation and notification activities on potential privacy incidents or breaches.
Attend and participate in meetings with or on behalf of the Chief Privacy Officer to discuss privacy-related topics with a variety of stakeholders including the DES Executive Leadership Team and cross-divisional and agency partners. Conduct Privacy Awareness training sessions for DES staff with or on behalf of the Chief Privacy Officer.
Track calculate and evaluate privacy metrics to identify trends in reported privacy incidents and recommend practical solutions to improve internal processes based on data analytics.

This position may require driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business then the following requirements apply: Drivers License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.11).
Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agencys ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions
