Mechanic-Bolt Up

The Bolt-Up Mechanic will be required to do bolt-up mechanical work on piping.

Primary Responsibilities for this Position:

  • Pipe flange alignment bolt-up and proper torquing techniques.
  • Can identify describe select maintain and is proficient in the use of tooling. Have knowledge of fabrication and can assist welders mechanics and pipefitters.
  • Take measurements for minor pipe drawings and fabrication. Cleaning shop machinery and tools cuts gaskets recovering used fittings dismantling flanged and screwed pipe installing and removing flanges blinds and orifice plates in lines assists craftsman in heading and unheading vessels and operating power tools including stationary pipe machine excavating and backfilling striking out blocking aligning reaming doping and wrapping cleaning pipe and installing clamps.
  • Knowledge of characteristics and use of various pipe and fittings gaskets and packing materials. Assists in rigging scaffolding and other tasks incidental to the work assigned.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body able to reach overhead able to work in various positions including but not limited to stooping standing bending over sitting kneeling squatting; use hands to handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time.
  • Other duties as assigned.
