Job Description
This role is for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a medical-surgical unit requiring mandatory floating between facilities. The CNA will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse assisting with activities of daily living collecting patient data and performing basic medical procedures. The position requires a minimum of two years of recent acute care experience.
- Collect patient data such as vital signs weights and specimens.
- Perform basic medical procedures such as incentive spirometry pulse oximetry and blood sugar checks (under supervision).
- Assist with patient transport and preparation for diagnostic tests.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Document patient care and related duties in electronic medical records.
- Answer unit phones and direct calls.
- Coordinate equipment and supply needs.
- Perform other related clerical and technical duties as assigned.
- Float to other facilities within the system as needed.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider CPR certification.
- Minimum two years of recent acute care experience in medical-surgical settings.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- None specified.
- 3x12-hour shifts 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
- Every other weekend and two weekends per month are required.
- Maximum of five days of requested time off (RTO) with no more than two consecutive days. No RTO on weekends or holidays or the day before or after a holiday.
- Must live within 75 miles of the facility.
- Parking costs apply at Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (JTDC); a shuttle is available.
- Every other weekend and two weekends per month are required.
- Shift assignments are not specified but mandatory floating is required.
