Position Summary

The Opportunity:Skagit Valley College is accepting applications for associate faculty to teach for the Professional TechnicalDepartment. The purpose of posting this position is to build a pool of qualified instructors interested in teaching Business and Managementclasses. This Associate Faculty position will instruct students seeking their degree in bachelors degree in management but may also be assigned to associate-level classes in programs such as Business Management and Data Analytics depending on needs and skillsets.

In coordination with other program faculty Associate Faculty are essential to developing and delivering curriculum tailored to each courses specific needs and that directly support program learning outcomes. The Bachelors in Management program covers a wide range of topics from Marketing Law Accounting Finance Human Resources Project Management and Operations Story Telling and Data Analytics using innovative techniques for instruction and cohort and community engagement. The program attracts students who aspire to leadership roles in a diverse range of profit and not-for-profit sectors including finance and banking educational administration community health and services healthcare management retail management hospitality and manufacturing.

As an Associate Faculty member you will collaborate with department colleagues to create and implement innovative curriculum designed to prepare students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed as leaders in the 21st century workplace.

  • Three (3) years of teaching experience at a post-secondary institution;
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of industry experience.
  • Degree or industry certifications in the field related to the subject being taught.

Salary Benefits Conditions of Employment Application Procedure About SVC

Salary and Benefits:
The salary rate for part-time faculty is in accordance with the negotiated agreement and may be subject to change based on legislative order to be eligible for benefits state regulations must be met.

Rate of Pay:Faculty compensation units (FCU) are computed by total hours (lecture lab clinical) identified on the approved course outline for a given course divided by eleven (11). Associate faculty pay is computed by multiplying the faculty compensation unit rate by the number of faculty compensation units.

The current FCU rate for the 2025-2026 Academic Year is at Step A is $1084.00 (includes I-732 COLA of 3.0% for 2025-26).
