Library Assistant (Special Collection & Archives Project) (1-Year Contract) ()
The University Library is seeking a Library Assistant for the Special Collections and Archives (SCA) team to a new digital initiative showcasing the Universitys history and campus development through its archival collections.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of a new digital project including conducting research on the Universitys history and campus development selecting digitising and describing archival materials contributing to project-related publications and promotional materials assisting in user acceptance testing for the digital platform;
- Process archival and library materials in the University Archives;
- Contribute to digitisation projects and web archiving programme;
- Provide user services at service counters and online;
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the SCA team; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Possess a recognised bachelors degree in History Library and Information Studies Cultural Studies Humanities or equivalent; or a postgraduate diploma in Archival Studies;
- Prior experience in a research or archival setting will be an advantage;
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua);
- Strong attention to detail excellent communication skills solid computer proficiency and a service-oriented attitude;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment; and
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a written test.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience in the range of HK$16895 to HK$29085 per month.
