Salary | : | HK$19764 - HK$24701 per month Up to 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance. |
Key Responsibilities:
1. | Assist laboratory technicians to collect and process patient samples including procedures for checking sorting labeling and recording and simple computer input |
2. | Assist technicians in operating general equipment such as operating centrifuges and separating serum samples. |
3. | Perform disposal of expired blood urine and other body fluid specimen. |
4. | Perform transporting and storage of chemicals including flammable and corrosive liquids and to prepare simple solutions. |
5. | Clean and disinfect laboratory glassware and plastic ware. |
6. | Assist in cleaning and tidying up the work area and equipment in the laboratory. |
7. | Responsible for the delivery of documents and materials. |
8. | Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor. |
Entry Requirement:
1. | (a) Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent; or (b) Completed F.3 / S.3 or equivalent with 2 years working experience in laboratory (See Remarks). |
2. | Completed the structured departmental training (See Remarks). |
Preferred Attributes:
1. | (a) 5 subjects passed in HKCEE including English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language or equivalent; OR (b) 5 subjects in HKDSE attaining the level specified below: - Level 2 in English Language and Chinese Language and;
- Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects/ Attained in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects under this category)/ Grade E in Other Language subjects or equivalent.

2. | With working experience in clinical laboratory. |
3. | Knowledge in computer applications including MS Word Excel PowerPoint and Chinese Word Processing. |
4. | Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. |
5. | Good communication interpersonal skills and able to work under stress. |

2. Candidates who have not acquired the entry requirement (2) may also apply. The selected candidates will be required to attend at least 6 months structured departmental training complete the requisite assessments and tests. If the appointees cannot complete the structured departmental training and passed the assessments/tests their employment with the HA may be terminated.
3. Candidates who have completed the JUMP program organized by Hospital Authority are considered to have attained F.3/S.3 level.
