Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Travel Position
Location: Warwick RI
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12s Nights
Pay: $2926/week
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join on a travel contract in Warwick RI. The L&D Nurse will provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout the childbirth process including antepartum intrapartum and postpartum care. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure detail-oriented and experienced in supporting patients and families during labor and delivery in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients throughout labor delivery and postpartum recovery.
- Administer medications and treatments including IV therapies epidural assistance and induction agents.
- Assist physicians and midwives during deliveries cesarean sections and obstetric emergencies.
- Educate and support patients and families regarding labor progress procedures and newborn care.
- Document assessments interventions and outcomes accurately in patient records.
- Collaborate with physicians midwives and interdisciplinary staff to ensure safe and effective care.
- Maintain compliance with infection control patient safety and hospital policies.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in Rhode Island (or compact license).
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support; AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring preferred.
- COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
- Strong critical thinking communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure obstetric situations.
