Job Summary:
Work is at Peterson Space Force Base Colorado supporting the International Partner (IP) Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) Support Center (IPASC). As the COMSEC Manager supporting the International Partner Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) Support Center (IPASC) you will oversee the daily operations of a Communications Security (COMSEC) Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) account. This role requires deep subject matter expertise in COMSEC policy cryptographic key management and secure communications systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Manage AEHF Local Key Management (ALKM) Account operations
- Interpret and implement COMSEC policies directives and regulations
- Resolve conflicts in guidance and develop protective procedures for COMSEC materials
- Draft and enforce COMSEC instructions and security protocols
- Conduct asset inventory and recommend changes to COMSEC equipment and materials
- Coordinate with international partners to ensure secure and compliant key management
- Provide cryptographic key generation distribution and management support
- Register endorse and track End Cryptographic Units (ECUs)
- Develop and deliver COMSEC training and job aids
- Serve as Cyber Security Representative for IPASC including system administration and asset management
- Submit service tickets and manage software installations
- Support AEHF crypto operations and mission planning
- US Citizenship and an active DoD TOP SECRET Clearance are required for the position.
- 6 years of experience in COMSEC operations
- In-depth knowledge of USAF COMSEC procedures (Tier 2 & Tier 3 equipment)
- Expertise in Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) and keying material
- Proven ability to develop SOPs and training materials for COMSEC programs
- Strong background in COMSEC/INFOSEC awareness and integration
- Eligibility for SCI clearance
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience managing KMI accounts and operating MGC/AKP systems
- Familiarity with AEHF terminals key management and mission planning
- Proficiency in SKLSKL transfers and secure telephony
- Knowledge of IP networking and AF-approved FTP protocols
- Associates degree in science or engineering
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and motivate teams
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Adobe and web browsers
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- Work to be performed out of Colorado Springs CO supporting various missions across the area of responsibility.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time in office-setting
