Job Title: Career and Technical Education Regional Specialist

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Pay Group: A55 Salary Plan

Primary Purpose:

Provide support and expertise to CTE teachers and principals. Assist in the coordination of district efforts in the areas of employer partnerships student job attainment and compliance with current and trending industry-standard employment and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification/Experience:

Bachelors degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education with major coursework in Education Career and Technical Education workforce development reentry services industry employment or a related field.

State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) in a Career and Technical Education field or a statement of qualification issued by Windham School District verifying relevant industry work experience.

10 years of full-time wage-earning professional experience in Education Career and Technical Education or a related field.

10 years of verifiable industry experience in a Career and Technical Education program area demonstrating extensive expertise in instruction workforce development and industry applications.

Each year of experience beyond the required 10 years may substitute for 30 semester hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis.

Must possess personal technology to complete job responsibilities effectively in remote work settings.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of labor market data and current employment trends.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in using computers and peripheral equipment.

Understanding of employment-related concerns for incarcerated students transitioning into the workforce.

Ability to build and sustain relationships with employers community partners and district stakeholders.

Strong interpersonal public relations and presentation skills.

Ability to interpret and analyze data.

Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.

Commitment to staying current on job training opportunities and labor market shifts.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Provide instruction in general safety and industry standards.

2. Facilitate the orientation development and success of new CTE teachers.

3. Coordinate and implement new CTE programs.

4. Support district workforce initiatives: attend job/re-entry fairs build employer partnerships and engage in workforce development meetings.

5. Provide guidance and mentorship to CTE teachers.

6. Provide professional development support and training to CTE staff.

7. Develop recommend and implement high-impact practices that reduce opportunity gaps and promote successful completion of CTE programs.

8. Identify the need for and deliver training on curriculum and instructional resources.

9. Support CTE teachers in developing leadership skills instructional strategies and differentiated instruction including technology integration.

10. Collaborate with CTE staff to identify campus needs and maximize student learning.

11. Improve instruction through modeling and co-facilitation with teachers.

12. Communicate and collaborate with teachers and external organizations on career and college readiness activities.

13. Coordinate career exploration activities: job shadowing work experiences business tours resume building and mock interviews.

14. Share district curriculum goals instructional innovations and accomplishments with staff and stakeholders.

15. Attend conferences and College and Career Readiness events.

16. Stay informed of CTE grant requirements and ensure compliance.

Policy Reports and Law:

17. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

18. Maintain daily punctual attendance at assigned work location.

19. Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in performing job duties.

20. Conduct duties professionally ethically and responsibly in accordance with 19 TAC Chapter 247 Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.

Environmental Demands:

Work inside and outside noise radiant/electrical energy work alone work with others around machines with moving parts and objects possible exposure to microwaves in use exposure to hot and cold temperatures exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
