Job Description
The German Consumer Loan Credit Specialist role is designed to ensure seamless and effective underwriting of German consumer loan applications and timely handling of debtors. The position supports TF Banks expansion in the German market by enabling quick and reliable decision-making in cooperation with brokers and in the future direct channels.
The main purpose of the role is to:
- Conduct thorough analysis of loan applications including reviewing bank statements and supporting documents and making final credit decisions beyond the initial automated process.
- Provide meaningful feedback on potential enhancements to credit policy based on market experience and observed application trends.
- Ensure timely and proactive engagement with overdue customers including daily debtor calls to mitigate credit risk and safeguard portfolio quality.
The role will be located in Szczecin Poland ensuring close cooperation with the Polish customer service team while reporting to the lead Credit Specialist in Tallinn. This setup strengthens operational efficiency and creates capacity for sustainable growth of TF Banks German consumer loan portfolio.
Key responisbilities:
- Perform comprehensive loan analysis and underwriting of consumer loan applications.
- Review supporting documentation such as bank statements income verifications and credit bureau data.
- Make final lending decisions on top of initial automated decisions applying best practices and knowledge of the German market.
- Provide feedback to improve and refine credit policy and underwriting guidelines.
- Support daily debtor management activities including contacting overdue customers by phone and other channels.
- Monitor repayment behavior and escalate problematic cases when needed.
- Collaborate closely with the Polish customer service team to ensure smooth loan processing and customer support.
- Report to and align with the lead Credit Specialist in Tallinn on process improvements workload and portfolio performance.
Qualification & Experience:
- Fluent German language skills (mandatory) both written and spoken (C1-B2 level).
- Strong command of English for internal communication.
- Previous experience in credit underwriting is required (1y) ideally within the German lending sector.
- Experience from Poland or other European consumer lending markets is also valuable.
- Knowledge of local German market practices customer behavior and regulatory framework is a strong advantage.
- Background in financial services banking or credit risk management.
- Familiarity with debtor management collection processes and repayment handling.
- University degree in finance economics business administration or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory).
