Job Overview/Summary:
As a Lead Dental Nurse you will play a pivotal role in ensuring outstanding patient care while supporting your dentist and leading your team. With a strong understanding of Private NHS and UDA treatments combined with in-depth knowledge of GDC and regulatory responsibilities you will uphold the highest professional standards for both your team and patients.
Responsibilities:

Lead mentor and support a team of Dental Nurses including recruitment and compliance responsibilities.

Manage the training and development of Trainee/Apprentice Dental Nurses providing guidance during induction and ongoing support.

Assist the Practice Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the Dental Nursing Team.

Deliver excellent patient care with clinical freedom to determine the right treatment solutions.

Foster effective teamwork within the surgery to support dentists and enhance workflow.

Utilize strong organizational and influencing skills to maintain practice efficiency and deliver quality patient care.

Ensure compliance with GDC and other regulatory requirements.

Support practice performance goals by understanding and promoting both Private and NHS treatment options.

Commit to CPD and continuous professional development.
Primary Skills:

Strong leadership and team management skills.

In-depth knowledge of GDC and regulatory responsibilities.

Excellent organizational communication and influencing abilities.

Comprehensive understanding of NHS UDA and Private dental treatments.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
-
Experience supporting practice performance improvement.

Familiarity with dental compliance systems and reporting tools.

Previous experience training or mentoring staff.
Qualifications:

Registered Dental Nurse with the General Dental Council (GDC).

Previous experience in a senior or lead dental nursing position preferred.
