The instructor has the materials supplies and equipment for each lesson ready at the start of lesson or instructional activity and maintains a high level of student TO: Senior Army Instructor and PrincipalSALARY SCHEDULE: Military Instructional PayscaleREQUIREMENTS:Education Level: High School Diploma. Must obtain an Associates degree within five years of employment from an accredited institution. Preferred: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or Skill and Certification: Obtain JROTC Certification from US Army Cadet Command. Must be a separated/retired non-commissioned officer within the past five years with a minimum of 10 years cumulative honorable service in the grades of E6 through E9 or an actively serving ARNG or USAR E6-E9 with a minimum of 10 years of Soldier from the United States ArmyPhysical Demands: Instructors must have a physical and medical fitness level that permits them to participate fully in JROTC DUTIES:Performs regular teaching tasks in a multi-subject JROTC curriculum as required by state and district requirements including: Provides Instruction; Assesses and Encourages Student Progress; and Manages the Learning; Follows the General Duties and Responsibilities for teachers in the state of Massachusetts; Writes/updates lesson plans for proper property accountability maintenance and physical security of all government furnished equipment/materials; Assists with planning and carrying out extra-curricular activities for JROTC Unit (including color/honor guard ceremonies drill team and rifle team competitive meets field trips and summer camp); Assists in the preparation of monthly semi-annual annual and periodic reports on program administration; Assesses JROTC program to assure program objectives are met; Attends Cadet Command ROTC-sponsored seminars to keep abreast of new requirements of program annual presentations on JROTC Program to students/faculty and administration within the school district; Takes courses of instruction to improve teaching;Counsels students in the JROTC; Maintains contact with civic groups to obtain their recognition of the other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization and the safety of OF EMPLOYMENTIncumbents will receive an annual contract.
