Job Description
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Data Platform Engineer with hands-on experience in Trino Presto SQL and Iceberg to design and optimize large-scale analytical systems. The role focuses on query performance tuning scripting for automation and implementing robust logging and monitoring solutions to ensure reliability and scalability of data platforms.
Key Responsibilities:

Design configure and maintain distributed query engines like Trino and Presto SQL for high-performance analytics.

Implement and manage Apache Iceberg tables for scalable reliable and ACID-compliant data storage.

Optimize query execution and conduct performance tuning for large datasets.

Develop automation scripts using Shell scripting or Python to streamline operations and data workflows.

Set up logging and monitoring frameworks to ensure system reliability availability and performance.

Collaborate with data engineering analytics and platform teams to support end-to-end data lifecycle.

Troubleshoot production issues and implement proactive solutions for scalability and stability.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).

3 years of experience with distributed SQL engines (Trino Presto SQL) in production environments.

Strong understanding of Apache Iceberg or similar table formats (Delta Lake Hudi).

Proven expertise in performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and distributed systems.

Proficiency in Shell scripting and Python scripting for automation.

Experience with logging monitoring and alerting tools (e.g. Prometheus Grafana ELK Splunk).

Solid knowledge of distributed data platforms and cloud-based data infrastructure.
Nice-to-Have:

Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (Azure AWS or GCP) for data services.

Experience with containerized environments (Docker Kubernetes).

Knowledge of data governance security and compliance practices.
