Description

Position Title: Development Officer - Campaign.
Department: Development Office.
Classification: Exempt.
FTE: 1.0.
Work Schedule: The standard 40-hour work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; flexible work arrangements can be proposed and are subject to approval by HR and relevant supervisors; occasional evening and weekend hours; travel up to 35% of the work schedule which includes local (Twin Cities metro area) and national travel; overnight trips average 6-10 trips per year.
Work Location: Hybrid. Work from home 2 days a week on campus 3 days a week. Will work on campus fully for the first two weeks.
Salary Range: $75000 - $85000.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Qualify cultivate solicit and steward major and planned gifts for the college.
    • Develop and implement an annual plan that prioritizes meetings events and travel in support of fundraising and other division goals.
    • Complete in-person and virtual meetings and small group gatherings to effectively qualify cultivate solicit and steward major prospects in portfolio.
    • Submit timely and accurate meeting reports in database currently Raisers Edge NXT.
    • Lead the development and closing of gift proposals with campus partners that align the colleges priorities with donors interests.
    • Develop stewardship plans for donors in coordination with the Donor Relations Office and identify stewardship opportunities to enhance the donor experience.
  • Fully develop assigned portfolio of prospective donors.
    • Collaborate with division and campus partners on events activities and donor engagement.
    • Facilitate donor events with the president and other campus leaders.
    • Cultivate and steward key alumni volunteers with in-person virtual and phone meetings.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Development Department and the Advancement Division through teamwork and collaboration.
    • Partner with the St. Olaf Fund to secure annual fund gifts for the college.
    • Assist with major campus events including Homecoming & Family Weekend Christmas Festival Commencement and Reunion Weekend.
    • Support respect and commit to embracing diverse backgrounds values and points of view to build a strong and inclusive community.
    • Complete and meet deadlines for required training and performance management cycle.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision Received and Exercised:

  • Reports to the Director of Major Gifts.
  • This position does not supervise staff or student workers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree; maintain a valid drivers license and meet St. Olaf College driver authorization criteria with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Experience: 3 years of related and relevant experience; interpersonal communication skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree from or experience working in a liberal arts college.
  • Experience: Fundraising experience and/or experience with putting proposals and solicitations in front of key constituents.
