Job Description
This is recreation work that involves instructing/facilitating programs and services preparing individual program plans and promoting interest and encouraging participation in program activity. Duties are performed within established guidelines but independent action and initiative is exercised on individual aspects of the programs. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated by a supervisor in terms of effectiveness of instruction services provided and conformance to established practices.
The Training Manual Requirements pre-qualifications for this position are:
- Six (6) months full time equivalent experience working with Youth in a recreation or related setting
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (minimum 8 hours)
- Minimum of two post-secondary courses related to Youth programs and services
The Class Specification requires a Standard First Aid and Food Safe and are job requirements.
