Job Description

Process Improvement Engineer

$80K - $105K

1ST SHIFT

Auburn Alabama

We are seeking a Process Improvement Engineer to assist management in analyzing production processes and enhancing equipment reliability and operational efficiency. This role plays a critical part in identifying and implementing improvements that increase safety productivity and profitability across the facility.

Primary Objective

Support plant management by analyzing safety production and maintenance procedures to identify areas of improvement reduce downtime and increase margin performance through sustainable process changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze production safety and maintenance processes to identify efficiency and margin improvement opportunities

  • Evaluate OEM processes and recommend improvements to standard operating procedures

  • Monitor production reports and quality control systems to detect trends or process deviations

  • Mentor and coach team members to build leadership skills increase efficiency and foster teamwork

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and equipment reliability

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and leadership to avoid miscommunication and delays

  • Collaborate with senior staff on issues related to personnel safety finance and procurement seeking cross-functional optimizations

  • Support special projects and additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager

What Youll Need

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Industrial or related discipline) from an accredited university

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (lumber industry preferred)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Maximo and Power BI

  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting operational data and driving evidence-based decisions

  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Understanding of how process training can drive production improvements

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement margin-improving strategies
