Electrical Engineer will be responsible for design review coordination and supervision of all electrical systems within an infrastructure project executed under a Design and Build (D&B) contract. The role involves ensuring the designs technical accuracy constructability and compliance with project specifications while supporting the execution team throughout design procurement installation testing and commissioning stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and validate electrical design drawings calculations and technical documents submitted by consultants or D&B partners.
- Ensure design compliance with project specifications client requirements and relvant codes and standards.
- Prepare and review design deliverables such as single-line diagrams load schedules lighting and power layouts earthing and lightning protection systems and utility network designs (MV/LV).
- Coordinate with design and construction teams to ensure interdisciplinary compatibility (civil mechanical and instrumentation).
- Participate in design coordination and progress meetings with clients consultants and subcontractors.
- Review material submittals shop drawings and method statements for electrical works.
- Ensure compliance with local authority regulations and international standards (IEC IEEE BS NEC NFPA etc.).
- Support procurement in evaluating technical offers for electrical materials and equipment.
- Supervise and inspect electrical installation works to ensure quality and adherence to approved design.
- Assist in testing and commissioning activities for electrical and low-voltage systems.
- Provide technical support and resolve on-site design-related issues.
- Monitor project progress identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 7-12 years of relevant experience in infrastructure projects (roads utilities tunnels substations airports etc.).
- Proven experience in Design & Build (D&B) projects is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems including MV/LV power distribution street lighting control systems and SCADA integration.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Revit (preferred) and electrical design software (e.g. ETAP Dialux).
- Familiarity with relevant international and local standards.
- Excellent communication coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of managing design documentation and liaising with multidisciplinary teams.
Experience with BIM-based design and electrical model coordination.

Familiarity with authority standards (e.g. SEC NEOM Royal Commission Ashghal RTA etc.).

Knowledge of power and infrastructure systems interfaces (e.g. street lighting utility corridors ITS).
