Accounting Manager
Location: Virginia Beach VAEmployment Type: Full-Time In-Office (5 days/week)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Accounting Manager to join a fast-growing PE-backed organization preparing for IPO. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in accounting and leadership experience particularly those coming from public accounting or high-growth corporate environments. The Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting operations ensure compliance and support strategic financial initiatives.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the month-end quarter-end and year-end close processes.
- Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations (bank credit card balance sheet etc.).
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements and compliance with GAAP.
- Identify and address gaps in general ledger functions and implement improvements.
- Lead preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages.
- Manage sales and use tax compliance and filings.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors including partnership tax matters.
- Mentor and supervise accounting staff fostering professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field from a respected institution.
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience including supervisory responsibilities.
- Experience in a high-growth PE-backed environment preferred.
- Strong general ledger and financial reporting experience.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP Oracle Dynamics NetSuite etc.).
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
