Meet the team:
Join Dexcoms advanced sensor development team where were pushing the boundaries of wearable biosensor technology. This technical leadership role is part of a high-impact group focused on developing precision coating processes for our next-generation continuous analyte monitoring systems. We work at the intersection of chemistry engineering and manufacturing scale-upbringing together cutting-edge coating technologies and regulated medical device standards. If youre passionate about thin-film coatings flexible electronics and solving complex process challenges this is the team for you.
Where you come in:
You will lead the development and optimization of additive thin-film coating processes for applying sensitive chemical formulations onto flexible substrates.
You will evaluate and implement advanced coating technologies such as slot-die jet/contact dispensing and other related methods.
You will design lab-scale coating processes that have a pathway towards high-volume manufacturing environments.
You will establish metrology and process control strategies to ensure coating uniformity controlled coating thickness and minimal material waste.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with formulation scientists equipment engineers and sensor development teams to ensure robust process integration.
You will troubleshoot coating defects and drive continuous improvement in yield throughput and material utilization.
You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to Dexcoms coating technology roadmap.
You will ensure coating processes meet regulatory standards and support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).
What makes you successful:
You have deep expertise in thin-film coating technologies including slot-die contact and/or jet dispensing.
You are skilled in fluid dynamics rheology and surface science as applied to coating processes.
You have hands-on experience with coating equipment setup tuning and troubleshooting.
Your proficiency includes scaling processes to high-volume manufacturing and integrating with production systems.
You are familiar with ISO 13485 and FDA GMP requirements for regulated manufacturing environments.
You have strong analytical skills and use data-driven approaches to optimize process performance.
You are an excellent communicator and collaborator able to lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor others.
Education and Experience:
Typically requires a Bachelorsdegree in a technical discipline anda minimum of 13 years relatedexperience or a Masters degree and8 years equivalent industryexperience or a PhD and 5 years of experience.
