Job Description

Are you highly experienced in developing and delivering communications programmes that shift the dial Do you have a passion for building trust and reputation in New Zealands sheep and beef sector Were looking for aSenior Communications Advisorto lead a joint communications strategy that will shape public and policymaker perceptions of the red meat sector and build farmer pride. Are you willing to get stuck in and provide communications support in key policy areas

About the Role

Reporting to the Communications Manager this role will lead the development and execution of aTrust & Reputation strategy in partnership with the Meat Industry Association (MIA). Youll manage multiple workstreams and turn research into compelling communications.

Youll also support the wider Communications team with general communications and contribute to a collaborative high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a joint Trust & Reputation strategy and work plans managing all communications outputs.
  • Manage delivery across multiple workstreams.
  • Create and coordinate communications deliverables with internal and external partners.
  • Provide communications support to the wider team.
  • Build strong relationships across the sector and with media.
  • Contribute to health safety and wellness culture.

About You

Youre a senior communications professional with:

  • 5 years experience leading complex communications programmes.
  • A tertiary qualification in communications or a related field.
  • Proven ability to distil technical information into engaging content.
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Understanding of rural and mainstream media policy and advocacy.
  • A collaborative customer-focused mindset and commitment to the sector.

Ideally based in our Wellington office.
