The Special Investigations Division is made up of the following sections/units/programs:

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelors degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
  • Serve as a central point of contact for the Insurance Fraud Analysis Team (IFAT) workflow process across the state.

  • Act as a liaison between the Louisiana State Police (LSP) Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI) Office of the Attorney General National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) and insurance industry Special Investigative Units (SIUs).

  • Receive fraud referrals from LDI verify the completeness and accuracy of information and enter the full referral into the Report Management System (Mark43).

  • Distribute verified referrals to the statewide IFAT Coordinator for assignment.

  • Coordinate with non-NICB member insurance providers to request claim files and track the status of those requests.

  • Communicate regularly with the IFAT Lieutenant to organize and monitor referral distribution and assignment across IFAT offices.

  • Assist in managing claim file requests with NICB and insurance companies including updating status logs when files are ready for assignment.

  • Support the development and production of the IFAT Annual Report by:

    • Gathering statistical data case highlights photos and updates on personnel and key events.

    • Collaborating closely with the IFAT Lieutenant and analyst to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
