QUALIFICATIONS:Valid teaching certificate required
REPORTS TO:Building Principal
JOB GOAL:To aid and support teachers in implementing the instructional program.
POSITIONS:
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide instructional support services in the areas of math and literacy under the direct supervision of a highly qualified teacher.
- Collaborate with teachers and model for teachers how to modify instruction for those students with behavioral needs.
- Assist in planning and implementing the learning environment and preparing needed materials and supplies.
- Provide individualized and small group instruction and implement behavior plans as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Monitor student work as assigned by the classroom teacher.
- Conduct functional assessments and participate in collecting and charting academic and behavioral data with an emphasis on targeted achievement and behavior goals.
- Praise and reinforce the achievement of students.
- Report student progress to the classroom teacher.
- Work with the classroom teacher to assess student progress.
- Debrief daily regarding student performance and instructional interaction.
- Perform duties under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Provide Tier II and Tier III interventions to students as part of the Response to Intervention (RTI) process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary Range: Teacher Salary Schedule. Placement depends upon education and experience.
Length of Contract: 190 days per contract year
