Patient Facing - Clinical
Description
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for the organization and supervision of all administrative and clinical activities for a physician practice with multiple locations. Manages daily clinic operations and delegates work assignments to team members. Coordinates and oversees daily clinic schedules patient flow and customer service for all physician clinics within scope.
REPORTS TO: Regional Practice Director
RESPONSIBILIITES
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Effectively displays and provides leadership to all staff and providers in a busy clinic setting
- Manages the day-to-day operations of physician clinic; identifies analyzes and resolves daily workflow issues
- Manages the recruiting hiring development and evaluation of all clinical and non-clinical staff
- Ensures clinic is appropriately staffed during all clinical and non-clinical hours; manages staff overtime to the needs of the clinic
- Manages physician schedules for multiple locations and visit types
- Monitors and manages the financial health of and contributions to United Digestive
- Champions relationship with physicians; conducts quarterly physician meetings
- Evaluates key performance indicators and financial metrics to drive decision making
- Abides by and promotes HIPAA compliance; maintains strictest confidentiality with regards to patient information
- Ensures all applicable procedures are scheduled in affiliated endoscopy suites
- Ensures all applicable ancillary services are scheduled within the practice
- Ensures requests for information and record releases are handled promptly and effectively to guarantee payment on patient accounts
- Interviews hires trains and develops all team members
- Conducts monthly team meetings to keep all informed of policies and procedures
- Acts as a communication link between the physicians administration and endoscopy suites
- Ensures patients are treated courteously by team members and that other visitors are screened and properly directed
- Acts as the formal contact person for referring physicians and patient complaints
- Oversees and approves ordering and maintenance of all supplies and equipment
- Responsible for the acquisition of complete and accurate patient demographic and billing information
- Balances patient payments daily; oversees collection of charges for hospital services and ensures that demographics are accurately captured in practice management system
- Initiates and oversees marketing activities within local market; develops relationships with key referring physicians and practice managers
- Ensures mail is opened and processed appropriately
- Completes any other duties and or special projects as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelors degree preferred 2-3 years of clinic management experience with a concentration in healthcare policies procedures and systems. Manager must be proficient with scheduling check-in and medical records management as well as clinic budgeting and inventory control. Manager must also be computer literate and able to operate multiple Microsoft Office applications.

Manager must be able to:
- Possess the ability to deal with patients visitors co-workers and physicians with courtesy and respect
- Display a professional outgoing warm and helpful attitude
- Understand key performance and financial metrics to drive decisions
- Possess compassion for dealing with people who are ill and need help
- Multi-task many different job needs and prioritize them effectively
- Work under pressure; assess respond to and communicate issues in a timely manner
- Interpret and apply clinical and non-clinical policies and procedures
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal clinic environment; travel within the Metro Atlanta area required
