Job Summary

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex federal state and local tax returns for individuals businesses and organizations. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with relevant laws regulations and guidelines as well as staying up to date on regulatory changes to communicate the impact to clients and team members
  • Providing tax planning and advisory services to clients including reviewing and analyzing financial statements accounting records and relevant documentation to ensure accurate tax reporting and identifying tax-saving opportunities and strategies
  • Advising clients on tax implications of business transactions investments and other financial decisions
  • Conducting tax audits and assisting in the preparation of audit responses supporting schedules and documentation as well as tax provision calculations and related disclosures for financial reporting purposes
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships providing exceptional customer service and addressing client concerns or inquiries

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related field. A masters degree in taxation or a CPA license is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting within a public accounting firm or a corporate tax department
  • In-depth knowledge of federal state and local tax laws regulations and reporting requirements
  • Working knowledge of various software programs such as CCH Axcess and QuickBooks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to specific situations
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in tax calculations documentation and filings
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with executives clients and colleagues at all levels
