About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our growing logistics and supply chain organization. This position plays a key role in managing the companys accounting operations ensuring financial accuracy and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the logistics or freight industry and a strong understanding of accounting principles financial reporting and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounting Operations: Manage daily accounting functions including accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and general ledger activities.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies; assist with monthly quarterly and annual reporting cycles.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with leadership to prepare budgets forecasts and variance analyses; monitor expenses and provide recommendations for cost control.
• Cash Flow Management: Oversee daily cash management and reconciliation ensuring liquidity and timely fulfillment of financial obligations.
• Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with tax regulatory and audit requirements.
• Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead and coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
• System Improvement: Evaluate and enhance accounting systems processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Ad-hoc Reporting & Analysis: Support senior management with detailed financial analysis reports and data-driven insights as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. (CPA or equivalent certification preferred.)
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience ideally within the freight logistics or transportation industry.
  Proven experience managing general ledger A/P A/R and month-end close processes.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks NetSuite SAP or similar platforms.
  Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling pivot tables and complex formulas.
  Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
• Other: Strong analytical organizational and communication skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
