Job Summary

Thalle Construction Co. Inc. (Thalle) is seeking a Construction Pipe Layer. The Pipe Layer will work closely with and support the operations team interact with a variety of staff at all levels and uphold a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. This position is located in Clayton NC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Use instruments such as lasers grade rods or transit levels
Cut connect and prepare pipe pieces and seal joints
Use welding equipment cement or glue
Install inspect repair sanitary or stormwater sewer structures or pipe systems
Check slopes and pipe routes to ensure they match blueprints
Determine presence of obstructions
Operates hand or power tools
Dig trenches with trenching tools
Cover pipes with dirt or other material
Must be willing to complete manual labor
Conduct work with 100% integrity and professionalism
Knowledgeable in pipe survey equipment

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory
Ability to receive written or oral instructions
Basic knowledge of working with all types of drainage pipe
Establish and maintain effective working relationship with field and office personnel
Must be committed to contributing to a culture of safety looking out for yourself and others

Physical Requirements:

Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing lifting balancing walking stooping and handling of materials.
Work long shifts.
Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
Must have good hand-eye coordination quick reaction times.
Able to wear a hard hat safety glasses gloves and safety-toed boots.
Able to walk moderate distances to reach work area up to 1/2 mile.
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular punctual attendance consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards.
Must be able to talk listen and speak clearly on telephone.
Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment drug screen.
