Overview
The Supervisor - Home Health - Clinical Operations plans and coordinates program development; responsible for day to day operations of the clinical team. Directly responsible for orientation supervision and evaluation of clinical staff. Provides direct patient care of patients of all ages as needed. Maintains 24 hour accountability and responsibility for patient care provided by the team. Promotes staff development and education. Responsible for keeping Clinical Manager and Director informed of operations.
Qualifications
Education:
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of IL.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Must possess a valid IL drivers license and must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS fleet safety policy (five year MVR will be required)
Experience:
- Minimum two years of home health experience required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ongoing participation in Memorial Health Leadership Development Institute.
- Demonstrates strong assessment of skills/clinical expertise as per performance appraisal or letters of recommendation.
- Strong leadership and organization skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates ability with problem solving and decision making to develop innovative approaches to changing home care environment.
- Universal precautions category I.
- Moderate physical effort.
Responsibilities
- Hire orient supervise and evaluate clinical personnel assigned to team.
- Maintains clinical expertise in area of responsibility.
- Responsible for day to day activities of the clinical team for efficient operations and appropriate patient care of the department/team.
- Provides direct supervision to ensure quality evidence-based clinical practice.
