Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm rotating Saturday 8:00am-12:00noon participates in the on-call rotation for the retail and long-term care pharmacies rotating holidays.
JOB SUMMARY The Lead Retail Pharmacist accepts responsibility and accountability for the accurate control of and appropriate dispensing of all prescription and non-prescription medications as required by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy. Ensures appropriate counseling of patients regarding their medications. Supervises the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. Leads colleagues in standards of quality of care inventory control and intra and interdepartmental communications. Participates in the on-call rotation schedule for the community and long-term care pharmacies.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education formal:
Completion of the requirements for a B.S. or Pharm.D. in Pharmacy at an accredited college of pharmacy is required.
Iowa Pharmacist License either by examination or reciprocity is required.
Experience:
1. Previous leadership experience is preferred.
Previous practical experience and/or certification in areas related to practice site are preferred. Special Skills and Competencies:

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Self-motivated detail-oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision.
Preferred certification in Immunization Administration.
Organizational Skills
Must be able to read write and/or speak English
