Job Description

Stan McNabbChevrolet Cadillac of Columbia is actively seeking a highly reliable and well-organized Warranty Clerk to join our team. If you have a positive attitude and are hardworking you are capable of multi-tasking and have extraordinary attention to detail then this might be the right opportunity for you!!

SUMMARY

Provides administrative and clerical support to the Service Department in the capacity as outlined below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Prepares records and submits warranty claims to the factory and/or distributor and reconciles them accordingly.
  • Processes warranty claims on a timely basis.
  • Processes all warranty paperwork to ensure proper documentation.
  • Verifies criteria required by factory.
  • Reconciles all warranty receivables with payments through the appropriate accounting schedule.
  • Posts credits on computer.
  • Resubmits all rejected claims promptly or receives authorization to write them off.
  • Follows up on payment of outstanding claims.
  • Files and maintains all service records as required by the warrantor.
  • Keeps informed of all factory recalls and bulletins.
  • Assists with any clerical needs as directed by the fixed operations manager or the controller.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides clerical and secretarial assistance to the department as needed.
  • Assists in the filing process.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Pre-employment background check and drug screen are required.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
  • Prior new car dealership experience required.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office specifically Excel.
  • Reports to work with a positive attitude on time and ready to work.
  • Organized and computer proficient.
  • Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction standards.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Self-starter with ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and can-do mentality.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks promptly.
  • Hardworking personality shown leadership qualities and eagerness to improve.
