Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for accurately receipting and recording all monies received on vehicle deals and dealer trades organizing deal paperwork and supporting month-end accounting processes. This role is critical to maintaining clean schedules accurate customer and deal records and timely financial reporting for the dealership.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Receipt and post all monies received for new and used vehicle deals dealer trades and related transactions.
- Organize and review deal jackets for completeness including required signatures accurate VINs funding documents and supporting paperwork.
- Process dealer trades in and out ensuring all inventory titles and billing are correctly recorded.
- Apply cash receipts to the correct customer deal or account and assist with resolving payment discrepancies.
- Perform office filing and scanning of deal paperwork invoices and other accounting documents to maintain accurate auditable records.
- Assist with reconciling related schedules and preparing end-of-month accounting reports as directed by the Controller or Office Manager.
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures and complete any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Qualifications :
- Previous automotive dealership accounting experience required (AR AP billing office clerk or office manager level).
- Hands-on experience with cash applications issuing purchase orders and reconciling statements in a dealership or similar environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review documents for accuracy completeness and compliance.
- Comfortable working with dealer management systems (DMS) and basic office software (Excel Outlook etc.).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset when working with internal teams and outside partners.
- Valid drivers license good driving record and ability to pass pre-employment screenings (background drug test and MVR).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
