Job Description Summary
Every year the Italian Studies program seeks a student assistant at the beginning of the academic year. The student assists faculty in Italian Studies in general event coordination and promotion community service projects program research and administrative tasks. Projects encompass activities in both the Italian Studies program and the Ferrucci Institute for Italian Experience and Research. This paid position provides valuable pre-professional training and cultural exposure for a committed student passionate about promoting Italian and Italian American culture. The position is renewable. A graduate or undergraduate student enrolled at Chapman University. Priority will be given to majors and minors in Italian (other students with a demonstrated interest and good grades in Italian will also be considered).
Responsibilities
Attend program events and help with general coordination and promotion (event registration taking photographs writing/editing promotional text). Assist elementary-level students (help introduce new students to the program and the Italian Club provide basic guidance with program life and academic resources). Perform various errands and tasks on campus (library errands copying and scanning mail delivery etc.). Creation of promotional material. Gather and organize program information. Social media management. Process basic grading and assessment materials. Create basic teaching materials. Other tasks assigned by the Italian Studies Program Director and the Ferrucci Institute Director.
