Salary $64000 year
The Business Supervisor fosters relationships between the workforce development program and local employers. Staff will act as the arm of the Workforce Solutions sales force by marketing services to area employers and ensuring that services are delivered as promised to employers.
Responsibilities
- Manage geographic territories to build and maintain relationships with new and existing employers economic development organizations chambers of commerce and associations to facilitate new job growth opportunities
- Build relationships with key regional industries targeted by the Gulf Coast Workforce Board and work with targeted industry sectors to provide customized data and solutions to fill the skills gap shortage of workers experienced by some regional employers
- Work in tandem with Gulf coast workforce Board industry liaisons to identify industry-specific needs in employment specialized training and other human resource needs
- Lead all employer relations for designated career office
- Recruit new employees and all employers who entered the system over the past two years to our workforce system while maintaining a rapport with existing ones; educating employers on all services offered by workforce solutions
- Host educational seminars posting open positions in our Work in Texas system hosting hiring events and customized training and facilitating interview space for employers or delivering specialized training
- Provide services for layoff aversion or outplacement
- Generate regular reports to track the success of employer engagement efforts
- Represent the workforce development program at community events business meetings and forums to enhance the programs visibility and credibility

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and 35 years of relevant leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience in sales business development or relationship management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with employers and jobseekers
- Knowledge of local industries labor market trends and workforce development programs
- Ability to analyze employer needs and effectively match them with suitable candidates
- Proficiency in using CRM software databases and Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite and other required locations
- A valid drivers license & clean driving record required
