This position gives support to the Sr. Logistics and Trade Compliance Manager in coordinating the overall performance of the Import/Export area including safety quality delivery productivity customs and trace compliance and inventory management. This position may help the Sr. Logistics and Trade Compliance Manager in providing leadership and guidance that ensures stockroom warehouse and import/export functions are effective in enabling the operations to achieve customer focused and financial goals it is responsible to maintain all records regulations up to date that ensures compliance with all applicable requirements and regulations to keep the IMMEX program in force along with the IVA-IEPS certification to comply with all the guidelines established by the authority concerning customs and related to Mexican laws and regulations in foreign trade.
Responsibilities:
Supervises the expediting of imports and exports and maintains current information on import/export tariffs licenses and restrictions by U.S. Mexican and other countries Customs authorities.
Ensure updating duties and fiscal and customs responsibilities to maintain IMMEX program (maquiladora program) and VAT Certification (IVA-IEPS or CIVA) or any future certification depending on trade compliance.
Maintain Operations inventory health according to Annex 24 Annex 30 Annex 31 Regla Octava (R8) rules and guidelines.
Monitor and secure all import and export pedimentos are in line with Mexican regulation including among others: on time opening and closing of consolidated pedimentos correct identifiers.
Create customs documents and invoices to import export and transfer materials as required by the company.
Analysis and updates to the ZOE (Annex 24) operating system (HTS Costs FDA BOM descriptions UMC etc.) to maintain a high percentage of efficiency in inventory consumption.
Generate and present reports required by Mexican Customs SAT INEGI COFEPRIS SAGARPA SE FDA US Customs etc. as well as meet the requirements of regulatory and trade compliance Authorities.
Support the customer service procurement and planning team to track materials in transit.
Lead audits with Mexican government agencies.
Maintain the VAT-IEPS (CIVA) certification complying with the guidelines stipulated by the authority.
Negotiates among domestic and foreign shippers as well as insurance carriers customs brokers and authorizes payments to them.
Manages expenses related to the Department of Foreign Trade leads projects for continuous improvement tax and cost reduction.
Lead day-to-day activities within the value stream to ensure that current commitments are achieved while improvements are being made.
Provide motivational leadership and communication to all team associates to ensure understanding and attainment of SQDCI performance objectives.
Employ drive and promote understanding of Lean tools and principles to ensure delivery of business objectives and a culture of continuous improvement.
Assess identify and manage the required training required to the Import/Export team to maintain up to date the required knowledge to support the operations and regulations.
Develop and support teams that make suggestions take initiative and actively implement improvements
May lead or participate with organizational and group operations management in CAPA activities by conducting determining and verifying corrective actions necessary to ensure continued compliance with division policy and procedures Federal regulations under Title 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485.
Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned.
Calificaciones:
Ability to prioritize relevant project information and deliver engaging informative and well-organized presentations.
Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion and mitigate team conflict and problems.
Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion and mitigate any potential risk for the IMMEX CIVA or any other certification.
Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Education required:
Bachelor of Science degree in Economy International Trade Supply Chain Management Engineering or equivalent required.
Desirable experience:
Eight years shop floor operations experience/interaction with operations in a manufacturing environment with working knowledge and training in Lean manufacturing concepts and techniques; significant exposure to Kanban managed supply chain.
Requires a broad knowledge of the Juridical Framework of foreign trade in Mexico.
