Job Summary

The Trading Analyst is a position within the Transformation and Analytics Team. This role provides support in deploying analytics models conducting quantitative analysis and building reporting tools to improve trading strategies and operational performance. The analyst will assist with market research maintain dashboards and collaborate with more senior analysts and traders.

Key Accountabilities

Analytics Support:

Assist in building and maintaining analytics models that support trading strategies.

Conduct exploratory data analysis and support regression/forecasting model development.

Maintain and update dashboards and routine reports to track KPIs and trading metrics.

Market Research

Monitor daily market conditions price movements and news relevant to power and gas markets.

Support preparation of market summaries and briefing reports for internal stakeholders.

Assist senior analysts in evaluating regulatory changes or market structure impacts.

Collaboration

Work closely with senior analysts IT and traders to ensure data accuracy and timely delivery of analysis.

Contribute to team discussions with insights backed by data and research.

Communicate findings clearly in presentations and written reports.

Education Experience & Skill Requirements

Bachelors degree in finance economics engineering computer science data science mathematics or statistics or a related quantitative field.

12 years of relevant work experience in trading analytics quantitative research data analysis or related field (commodity financial or energy market preferred).

Proficiency in Python (experience with SQL cloud platforms or software development practices a plus).

Familiarity with regression time series or machine learning methods.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Demonstrated interest in energy or commodity markets.

Key Metrics

Accuracy and timeliness of reports dashboards and data deliverables.

Reliability in supporting analytics projects led by senior team members.

Continuous growth in technical skills (Python modeling reporting) and market knowledge.

Positive collaboration and contribution to team workflows.
