Job Title: OR Assistant

Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Schedule:12:00pm- 8:30pm
SUMMARY:
As an OR Assistant your exceptional organization and collaboration abilities assist in the operational success of the unit and patient outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain equipment and orderliness of work area. Obtain supplies required for case carts and sub-sterile area. Excess supplies returned to inventory. Work with team to provide smooth work flow in Peri-Operative setting.
Uses team effort to accomplish room turnover within acceptable time frames. Primarily responsible for cleanliness and safety of environment for staff medical staff patients residents and students.
Assists in the transfer transport and positioning of patients in addition to holding for preparation as directed.
Transports specimens and cultures within hospital according to policy.
Stocks rooms may handle meds sharps and syringes on the OR field.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
None willing to train.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent.
One (1) year patient care and/or operating room experience in an accredited hospital.
Basic computer skills.
Demonstrate understanding of aseptic technique.

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations including continuing education requirements.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience relevant qualifications specialty internal equity location and contracts.
