What will you do

As a self-motivated and valued member of the team youll do exciting challenging work on various projects and initiatives across the Citys departments and branches. Youll learn about public service and build your professional network by working closely with other professionals at the City of Edmonton.

Roles are based in various locations across Edmonton Alberta and responsibilities will depend on your team.

  • Currently enrolled in a co-op (or internship) degree program from a post-secondary institution
  • Enrolled within the following areas of study or a related program:
    • Business
    • Communications and Marketing
    • Computer Science
    • Digital Experience Design
    • Environmental Sciences
    • Geographical Sciences / Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
    • Humanities and Social Sciences
    • Information Technology and Data (Mathematics Statistics)
    • Public Administration
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Urban Planning

Assets:

  • Experience with related computer software applications (e.g. Google Workspace Applications Adobe Reader)
  • Experience conducting research using various methodologies and quantitative and qualitative analysis of information

Skills required for success:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative member of a team
  • Committed to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to accurately analyze information
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment and able to adapt to changing priorities

PLEASE NOTE:

  • There may be additional requirements and related costs depending on the business area including: A valid Alberta Class 5 drivers license (or provincial equivalent) ability to obtain and maintain a City Drivers permit a security clearance that is satisfactory to the City of Edmonton or Standard First Aid Certification and CPR Level C
  • Driving may be required for City business

Work Environment:

  • Position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite
  • The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance

Up to 35 temporary full-time positions

Hours of work: Monday - Friday 33.75 hours per week or 40 hours per week. Vary depending on the business area.

Salary: 33.75 Hours per week: $24.252 - $28.294 (Hourly)
Salary: 40 Hours per week: $22.918 - $26.737 (Hourly)
