Job Summary
About this Job
To safeguard the life and health of the citizens of Louisiana by assuring persons practicing as Registered Nurses and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses are competent and safe.
This position must exercise sound judgment creativity and resourcefulness in all areas of responsibility and must be proficient in the use of computers. Position requires the ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures and to communicate the same verbally and in writing in a professional manner.Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in the issuance maintenance or reinstatement of licenses; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Examines and analyzes data submitted by and/or on behalf of each applicant for RN and APRN licensure for accuracy authenticity and completeness of information to document determination of eligibility and qualification for licensure and prepares file.
Receives and reviews professional credentials and advises and makes recommendations lo superiors relative to compliance with requirements for RN and APRN licensure re-licensure renewal of license granting changing or continuation of Prescriptive Authority (PA).
Receives analyzes and verifies authenticity of diplomas certifications and licenses submitted by applicant institutions and/or other licensing authorities. Receives safeguards records analyzes and prepares reports of security clearance data which includes criminal history record information data provided by federal state and local law enforcement agencies for the applicant.
Research records makes requests and responds to requests for information to/from entities that include professional organizations hospital administrators health care entities providers federal state and local law enforcement agencies other federal state and local officials general public and other licensing and/or certification entities relative to applicants statutes rules and regulations and other public information

Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
