Job Title: Coordinator of Business Services
FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Director of Business Services
Primary Purpose
Provide leadership and supervision to the business support teams. Provides some direct support to Region 11 client local education agencies (LEAs) in all areas of business administrative services provided.

Education/Certification
Bachelors degree in accounting business or related field preferred
TASBO Certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Team oriented attitude and desire to work collaboratively with ESC staff
campus/district/charter school personnel.
Effective skills in leadership administration organization planning communication
public relations and interpersonal skills.
Advanced technical knowledge of school accounting and budgeting.
Strong collaboration skills.
Working knowledge of Texas Public School finance accounting and payroll functions.
Ability to use a personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets perform data
analysis and word processing.
Ability to interpret policy procedures and data.
Working knowledge of Ascender and Skyward is preferred.
Experience
Five years minimum experience of school finance
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

**This position may be partially or completely funded using grant and/or federal monies and is assigned programs to include activities designed to enhance the effective and coordinated use of funds.
Actively participate in and/or provide leadership for inter-departmental teams to help improve student performance in the region to improve the ESC/s internal operations and to meet the established goals and objectives for the ESC.
Is responsive as the first point of contact to all stakeholders in the education community.
Lead the Business Service Teams
Provide technical assistance to districts/charter schools in the areas of budgeting accounts receivable purchase orders vendor payments accounts payable drawdowns payroll functions summary of finance and debt service.
Reconcile districts bank statements and federal state and property tax revenue.
Review the output of accountants and payroll accountants to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
Provide districts with technical assistance in understanding financial reports and accounting and/or payroll issues.
Organize scheduling and planning to address client support needs
Coordinate training for supported administrative applications
Maintain expertise in relevant governmental regulations and requirements
Support Director of Business Services and Chief Financial and Operations Officer as needed
Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Duties
Supervises Business Services Accountants and Payroll Accountants.
Equipment/Specialized Software Used
Computers projection devices control panels in meeting rooms printers productivity software software specific to the job assignment network resources internet resources and other hardware and software necessary to perform the functions of the job effectively and efficiently.
Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors)
Mental: Public relations and people skills are always required work with frequent interruptions and maintain professional composure and confidentiality under stress.
Physical: Occasional prolonged and irregular hours ability to move tables and chairs and load/unload boxes and materials. Prolonged use of a computer. Frequent region and state-wide travel.
Environmental: Open cubicles/workstations.
Evaluation
Annual performance evaluation will be performed in accordance with the adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11. Employment in this position is contingent upon performance need and funding.
