The following statements are meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individual(s) assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties responsibilities and skills required of personnel so classified.


Position Purpose and Summary

The Executive Assistant to the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer (GC & CCO) works collaboratively with the GC & CCO and all members of the Office of the General Counsel and Compliance (OGCC) to perform a range of duties that support the successful implementation of legal initiatives and the overall delivery of legal and compliance services. This includes providing all related administrative support for day-to-day operations and special projects.

The Executive Assistant will collaborate directly with the OGCC team to work on projects and provide support. This will include direct guidance and assignments from the GC & CCO and National Headquarters (NHQ) department directors/managers on specific initiatives.

The Executive Assistant must be able to perform duties onsite at National Headquarters (NHQ) whenever needed outside of the hybrid schedule to attend meetings and work on projects. Specifically the Assistant will be required to work at NHQ during days when the GC & CCO is onsite.


Duties and Responsibilities

Provides the OGCC with day-to-day operational support (e.g. word processing and scheduling) as well as project-based support which will include but not be limited to administrative management of general legal (e.g. contractual operational intellectual property and litigation) and compliance-related matters for the Sorority.

Coordinates internal and external meetings transcribes meeting minutes creates reports answers and directs calls responds to OGCC-related emails arranges travel and meeting plans prepares for travel and meetings develops forms to create efficiencies in the OGCC and provides other clerical and administrative support as may be necessary and requested.

Provides routine analytics to the GC & CCO department directors/managers and organizational leadership; maintains records prepares reports and distributes in accordance with policy.

Develops forms to create efficiencies in the OGCC and provides other clerical and administrative support as may be necessary and requested on a case-by-case basis. Tracks external counsel engagements and costs relating to the allocated fiscal budget and provides the requisite reports.

Assists with drafting/editing contracts memorandum and other legal documents as instructed and leads the proofreading of such deliverables.

Creates and maintains the OGCCs production schedule reflective of all legal and business matters on the Offices docket.

Provides reports data and information for the monthly and quarterly reports to the GC & CCO department directors and appropriate staff.

Corresponds with National Executive Board members responding to inquiries regarding all matters directed to the GC & CCO that fall under the auspices of the OGCC.

Responds to emails regarding special concerns and inquiries in a timely fashion; prioritizes based on the nature of the concern(s) which emails require a direct response from the GC & CCO and/or other OGCC staff.

Collaborates with other departments committees and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure organizational financial objectives are met.

Performs other duties on- and off-site as assigned at the direction of the GC & CCO in preparation for board meetings national conventions and regional conferences.

Maintains confidentiality and professionally interacts with employees management and others at all times.

Supports additional OGCC functions as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge Skills and Abilities)

Membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. is preferred.

Associate or bachelors degree.

Five (5) years of professional administrative experience preferably at the executive level.

Discretion with sensitive confidential financial and other information.

Must be able to travel as necessary for events where staff participation is required.

Relocation assistance is not available. Must reside within a 50-mile radius of National Headquarters within six (6) months of start date.
