We are hiring an Instrumentation Operations Technician at our upper tier COMAH site at Bacton Gas Terminal a critical site on the UKs National Transmission System. This hands-on role covers installation inspection commissioning repair and maintenance of high-pressure systems that keep Britains energy flowing. Youll work on complex challenges ensure the highest safety standards and help safeguard infrastructure that millions rely on every day. Your Role:

As an Instrument Operations Technician youll play a pivotal role in maintaining repairing and upgrading the compressor stations and above-ground installations that are essential to the National

Transmission System. These high-pressure systems ensure gas flows smoothly across the UKs pipeline network supporting homes businesses and industries.

Key responsibilities include:

Installing commissioning maintaining and repairing safety control and measurement systems at our compressor stations and above ground installations.
Acting as a site controller issuing permits and ensuring the safe operation of works.
Conducting isolations and supporting construction and commissioning of new assets.
Travelling across the south east region covering different sites and receiving ongoing training to develop your expertise.

Standby Rota standby ranges between 1 week in 4 to 1 week in 6 depending on team size.

What were looking for:

Essential:

Time served apprenticeship (or other recognised training scheme) in an instrumentation or a control systems discipline
BTEC National Certificate (or equivalent City & Guilds NVQ/SVQ Level 3) in an instrumentation or a control systems discipline
Worked in industries including (but not limited to) FMCG the broader utilities military or aviation
Full UK car driving license

Desirable:

Possess an in date certificate in Compex EX01-04 Hazardous Equipment
Appreciation of systems and equipment associated with other engineering disciplines within the oil and gas (or other similar process) industry
