Permanent

Working 20 hours per week

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Leisure Operations Manager to support the day-to-day management development and promotion of our Sport & Leisure facilities at Handsworth Wellbeing Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality leisure services to the community.

What youll do...

  • Oversee daily operations of leisure facilities ensuring safety cleanliness and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage staff recruitment training performance and welfare.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and internal policies.
  • Maximise income generation and work within approved budgets.
  • Promote services through marketing campaigns and maintain high standards of public relations.
  • Uphold Birmingham City Councils values and policies including safeguarding and equality.

What youll need...

  • Previous experience in leisure centre management (wet and/or dry facilities).
  • Staff supervision and HR policy implementation.
  • Financial procedures and budget management.
  • Health & safety knowledge including risk assessments.
  • Community-focused service delivery.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • IT proficiency and analytical thinking.
  • Leadership and team-building capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • First Aid at Work
  • RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
  • ISRM Pool Plant Operators Qualification or equivalent
