Ontario Health is seeking Analyst to join theFunding Unit teamwithin theHealth System Performance and Supportportfolio. Reporting to a Manager and working closely with team members the Analyst will play a key role in preparing data requests interpreting health care data and conducting exploratory analyses at both system and provider levels. This work contributes to Ontario Healths suite of products including system sector and audit and feedback reports.
The Analyst will apply appropriate analytic tools and processes to support key activities and deliver on program plans. Areas of focus may include survey administrative and clinical data across sectors such as primary care long-term care and hospital care. The role also involves supporting indicator selection strategic projects and providing input to report writing. Focus areas may evolve based on organizational needs and individual strengths. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
Here is what you will be doing:
Contribute to analytics and reporting across the Health System Performance and Support portfolio.
Support system and sector reports patient experience measurement and performance methodologies.
Conduct quantitative and/or qualitative analyses of clinical administrative or survey data.
Complete ad hoc analysis requests and explore data for indicator development.
Prepare summaries and presentation materials describing analytic methods.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of reported data figures and tables.
Maintain documentation for quality indicators including technical specifications and methodologies.
Assist with data quality assurance fact-checking and project support.
Maintain and develop website content and documentation.
Draft technical notes and written content for reports.
Conduct environmental scans of indicators and measurement frameworks.
Identify data elements datasets and visualization approaches to support decision-making.
Develop new analyses methods and approaches.
Support indicator review prioritization and development.
Build relationships within the team and across Ontario Health to understand research needs and share insights.
Manage stakeholder relationships to clarify and deliver project outcomes.
Stay current with industry best practices and trends.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience:
University degree in Health Administration Health Information Management Information Technology Epidemiology Social or Health Sciences Biostatistics or a related discipline.
Minimum 1 year of experience using SAS (or similar statistical software) for analysis database development or reporting.
Strong knowledge of MS Excel.
3 years of experience in health services research health system performance community care or population health OR
2 years of experience working with administrative and/or clinical data in the Ontario context.
