Job Summary
Position Summary Advance OIEDIs mission to foster belonging equity and intercultural learning at the University of Portland by providing inclusive frontline service communications production and event/program logistics. This work is grounded in the twin lenses of the University of Portland mission and the charism of the Congregation of Holy Cross. Student Associates are hired into a Primary Track (Communications/Media or Events/Programs) and lightly crosstrained in a Secondary Track for flexible coverage. Home base for the role is the Diversity Center. Guiding Outcomes ( CVCA ) Inspired by Holy Cross Constitutions 2.1 (disciples must have the competence to see and the courage to act) OIEDI organizes student work around four outcomes: Competence Vision Courage and Action. Competence: notice systems needs and access barriers in daily work. Vision: imagine inclusive possibilities and communicate them clearly. Courage: speak up refer and intervene appropriately when needed. Action: execute plans with care followthrough and accountability. Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications Current UP student in good academic standing; reliable professional and detailoriented. Strong communication and discretion with sensitive information; commitment to UPs Holy Cross mission and OIEDI values. Tech: Microsoft 365; willingness to learn Canva; basic A/V setup.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications For Communications: prior content creation portfolio samples shortform video editing. For Events: prior event staffing/peer leadership; familiarity with classroom/venue A/V. Experience working across cultures and identities.
