Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
We are seeking a Hardware Technical Lead to drive complex satellite antenna systems projects combining hardware and software development expertise with advanced program management skills. In this role you will:
* Drive end-to-end satellite antenna development to optimize performance reliability and manufacturability * Manage technical requirements for satellite antenna systems development * Coordinate with subject matter experts on trade studies to define antenna hardware and software specifications * Oversee hardware verification and validation processes * Coordinate manufacturing planning initiatives * Manage cross-functional dependencies to ensure timely delivery * Implement and optimize team processes and tools
Required Technical Experience:
* Strong background in hardware development at PCB level * Demonstrated expertise in New Product Introduction (NPI) processes * Proven experience in feasibility studies prototyping and hardware system design * Proficiency in verification and validation test planning and execution * Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Test (DFT) principles * Some experience with reliability engineering and cost optimization
Required Program Management Skills:
* Execution capabilities and strategic planning * Resource allocation and scheduling proficiency * Cross-functional team leadership * Project management tools and methodologies mastery
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent judgment deep technical knowledge and the ability to break down complex projects into manageable components while balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Masters degree in electrical engineering computer engineering or equivalent - 7 years of hardware development experience at PCB level - 5 years of technical product or program management experience - 5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production - Experience with the project management of technical projects - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules - Experience in hardware design in wireless applications or general computing appliances.
