Job Summary/Description:
WDTV is seeking a candidate regularly responsible for anchoring and producing newscasts. The selected candidate should be a newsroom leader and should help with story generation. The candidate should thrive in breaking news situations and urgent/active delivery. The select candidate must demonstrate flexibility in the newsroom and on-air and present an energetic personality while delivering the news. The selected candidate must be a team player.
Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Anchor all P.M. newscasts including 5 5:30 & 6 & produce and anchor the 10 & 11
- Obtain some information on & write breaking news stories for the website & the shows
- Share breaking news on Facebook &the news app
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively with newsroom managers producers and co-workers
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of journalism ethics and legal issues
- Ability to meet news deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and possess the ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Maintain a professional appearance
