About the Internship:
As a Newsroom Intern youll gain valuable behind-the-scenes exposure to the daily operations of a broadcast newsroom. This internship is designed to give students practical experience while working alongside experienced journalists producers and assignment editors.
Responsibilities:
- Assist reporters producers and digital teams in story research and development
- Help with logging interviews organizing scripts and gathering visual elements
- Attend editorial meetings and contribute to story ideas
- Shadow field crews on shoots and live reports (as available)
- Support the digital news team with web and social media content
- Learn industry-standard tools and newsroom software
Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a college or university program (Journalism Communications Media Studies or related field preferred)
- Strong interest in television news and storytelling
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to take initiative and work in a deadline-driven environment
- Availability to intern 1015 hours per week
