Windham Central Supervisory Union is seeking a Speech Language Pathology Assistant to join their dynamic and supportive SLP-A will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) assists in the implementation of speech and language therapy services for individuals with communication disorders. This position is a support role focused on carrying out Individualized Education Programs and may serve some students on 504 plans and includes collecting data and performing administrative tasks to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of direct therapy services to students/patients/clients following documented Individualized Education Programs and/or 504 plans by the supervising SLP. Document student performance and progress toward meeting established objectives. This includes collecting data and reporting information to the supervising SLP. Assist the SLP during assessments by preparing materials setting up the testing environment and performing clerical duties as directed. Conduct speech and language screenings without interpreting the results. Prepare therapy materials and equipment for use in sessions. Modify or adapt instructional materials and equipment as determined by student/client needs and abilities under the guidance of the SLP. Assist with clerical tasks such as scheduling record-keeping and maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment. Support the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and systems.
