The Opportunity:
Perkins Eastman Architects DPC seeks Architectural Designer II (Healthcare and BIM) for our San Francisco CA location. May telecommute up to one day per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with consultants to manage background exchanges and set standards on the Building Information Modeling Healthcare Studio.
- Develop customized Dynamo script with Python Revit Plugins CTC BIM pyRevit Avail Naviswork BIM 360.
- Provide building information modeling management of digital project components including development of the BIM execution plan.
- Assist with firms BIM standards and workshops. Responsible for master planning and architectural design and medical planning for building layouts and adjacencies for inpatient hospitals.
- Develop test fits. Assist with master planning services that include site and building components interior systems of movement blocking and stacking particularly in healthcare design.
- Collaborate with the design team to identify design criteria for new construction and renovations. Perform design activities such as FGI CBC ANSI/ADA code research material and building systems research laying out program components; refines the design options and develops building details. Participate in developing criteria for choosing materials based on cost and time impacts.
- Work with specifications team consultants and vendors to assist with technical specifications development.
- Prepare scale drawings and documents. Plan layout of projects and integrate engineering elements into design coordinating with consultants.
- Assist with the construction administration phase of the project including independent submittal review RFI investigation and response and limited site observation.
- Implement computer sims for design and client approval. Little local travel to visit client sites may be involved.

Required Qualifications:
- Must have Masters of Architecture 3 years relevant experience with design and documentation of medium to large scale healthcare projects in California using HCAI (OSHPD) standards and required skills (3 years experience).
- In the alternative must have a Bachelors of Architecture 5 years relevant experience with design and documentation of medium to large scale healthcare projects in California using HCAI (OSHPD) standards and required skills (5 years experience).
- Required skills include: coordinating healthcare projects through all design phases; designing healthcare projects under HCAI(OSHPD); coordinating with consultants and design team; material identification and specifications; quality assurance of contract documents; assisting with the Construction Administration phase including meetings submittals and preparation of field sketches; utilizing LEAN delivery methods and Design-Build; working with zoning building codes and building materials; 2D software including AutoCAD Adobe Photoshop Adobe Illustrator Adobe After Effects and Adobe InDesign and Affinity Creative Suite; 3D software including Revit Rhino Python and SketchUp; visualization software including V-ray and Enscape; parametric coding tools such as Python and Grasshopper; office automation software including Newforma Project Center Microsoft Outlook and Deltek Vision; interior and exterior design and documentation; renovation and expansion projects including existing building survey and documentation; and LEED documentation process.
