The Workforce Relations Coordinator plays a key role in advancing economic mobility by building strategic employer relationships coordinating a regional workforce collaborative and facilitating access to sustainable employment and education for ETC participants.
This role requires exceptional group facilitation and training skills as the Coordinator regularly leads interactive sessions with employers community partners and internal addition the Coordinator aligns efforts across workforce education and industry systems to ensure participants are connected to viable career pathways.
Reporting to the ETC Program Manager the Workforce Relations Coordinator works across rural and urban counties serving as both a connector and a strategist in building a stronger more inclusive regional workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Employer Engagement & Career Pathways Coordination
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with regional employers to identify job opportunities with sustainable wages and advancement potential.
- Use facilitation expertise to lead corporate learning sessions coach hiring partners and translate workforce trends into actionable strategies.
- Collaborate with local chambers of commerce SHRM chapters HR councils and business associations to expand employer participation in ETC initiatives.
- Share employer feedback with the ETC team to inform strategy and strengthen job-matching and retention efforts.
Regional Workforce Collaborative Leadership
- Launch and manage a multi-sector regional workforce collaborative that includes partners from workforce development education nonprofit business and government sectors.
- Facilitate engaging and productive group meetings that align diverse stakeholders toward shared workforce goals.
- Use group facilitation skills to guide collaborative decision-making problem-solving and information-sharing across partners.
- Align collaborative efforts with local and state workforce strategies and economic development initiatives.
Participant Support & Career Assessment
- Lead implementation and continuous improvement of career assessments (e.g. YouScience) with ETC Mentors and participants.
- Provide training and facilitation for Mentors to incorporate assessment tools into goal-setting and workforce planning.
- Support career exploration education referrals and job placement strategies informed by assessment results and employer demand.
Training and Capacity Building
- Design and lead high-quality trainings briefings and workshops for internal staff community partners and employers.
- Facilitate Mentor development sessions on labor market trends inclusive employment practices and participant career coaching strategies.
- Create materials and conduct orientations on best practices in workforce engagement employer readiness and system navigation.
Systems Building & Internal Alignment
- Develop and manage an internal job lead sharing system to connect Mentors with real-time employment opportunities.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of regional training programs hiring events and employer pipelines.
- Strengthen cross-county coordination of workforce efforts to ensure consistency and alignment with ETC outcomes.
Data Management & Reporting
- Track employer engagement and participant career progress using CRM systems and internal databases.
- Support grant compliance through timely and accurate reporting of employment and education metrics.
- Provide regular updates and insights to the Director of Economic Mobility to support decision-making and reporting.
Community Outreach & Visibility
- Represent ETC at workforce events community meetings and job fairs to expand program visibility and build new partnerships.
- Conduct outreach to rural communities and underserved populations to improve access to employment opportunities and wraparound support.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or experience in Workforce Development Human Resources Public Administration Education or a related field.
- 5 years of professional experience in workforce development community engagement employer relations or group training and facilitation.
- Proven ability to facilitate dynamic trainings and collaborative meetings across diverse stakeholders and settings.
- Deep understanding of local and regional labor market trends workforce systems and inclusive employment practices.
- Experience working with underserved communities is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in data tracking systems CRM platforms and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
